BEING ABLE TO DO SOMETHING I LOVE THAT ALSO MAKES OTHERS HAPPY IS TRULY THE BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD.
My name is Helmi Darroch.
Though I only started drawing in December 2015, it quickly became my passion.
I like nothing better than spending my free time drawing and experimenting, always wanting to learn more and improving my skills.
I started drawing portraits of my family; husband, children, grand-children and animals.
Before too long I started receiving special request for People Portraits and Pet Portraits.
Each request is always treated with the highest respect and I give it my 100% dedicated effort.
Not wanting to disappoint I make sure to send pictures of the drawings while in progress and at completion.
If the customer is not happy with the end result there is no obligation to purchase, however, for more complex or extremely time consuming requests a non-refundable deposit may be required before I will start working on the project.
When I receive your request I will let you know if a deposit is needed and will make this clear when responding with a quote.
I will continue to offer this method while following my dreams and staying on this journey.
** NOTE: in 2016 I used my art for a fundraising blitz to benefit both AARCS and Heaven Can Wait. These are two local animal rescue organizations that are truly wonderful. They rescue, provide medical care, foster and make available for adoption so many animals in dire need of help.
In September 2017, I created a Firefighters Tribute oil painting: 'The Brave'
Limited Edition 11 x 14 prints will be available (max # of prints = 200).
I will donate $30.00 of each print sold to the Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Society.
November 2018: I have created "In Safe Hands"; a pencil portrait of two soldiers in Vietnam.
Limited Edition prints will be available, details can be found in my store.
Proceeds will go to the Wounded Warriors Canada PTSD Service Dog program. The WWC Service Dog program is a wonderful program for PTSD sufferers from the Military as well as First Responders.
Let's help WWC help these brave men and women in need!
Thank you for your support!
